Four local Kansas City soccer products were selected for the final Under-23 Women’s National Team training camp on Nov. 28 to Dec. 4 in Orlando, Fla.
The selected players were Sydney Miramontez (FC Kansas City defender), Parker Roberts (University of Florida midfielder), Haley Hanson (Nebraska University midfielder) and CeCe Kizer (Ole Miss forward). All four players helped GSI Pride capture the WPSL Conference title this past summer.
While this was the first call-up for Haley and CeCe, Parker was a member of the USA’s U-20 Women’s World Cup team that finished fourth in Papua New Guinea and Sydney attended the U-23 camp last winter on.
“It was a great experience and I hope I gave a good account of myself,” Haley said after the week long camp.
She added that having KC area players with her added to the whole experience.
Congrats to the girls and to the local KC clubs who developed the players in youth soccer. Sydney played the vast majority of her youth career for KCFC and then Sporting BV ECNL, Parker played for the Dynamos, Haley for KCFC and Sporting BV ECNL, and CeCe for Sporting BV ECNL.
